Question for mods: Can we ban posts asking for "discreet payment methods"? You're outing yourselves.

Every week: "Does anyone take PayPal F&F? Or crypto? I don't want my university to see the charge."
  • Your university does not monitor your credit card statements.
  • Venmo "goods and services" is not a surveillance tool.
  • If you send money via "Friends & Family" to a stranger on Reddit, you have zero recourse. Zero. None.
  • PayPal/Credit card chargeback is the ONLY leverage you have against scammers.
Pro tip: Some services now offer "student loan deferment grants" as the line item on your statement. It's smart. But if they insist on unrecoverable payment methods? Run.

Also: Do not order to your university email. Do not have it delivered to your on-campus address. Use a burner email. This is basic operational security.
