I need a fresh pair of eyes because I've been staring at this for so long it all looks like gibberish. My paper is about the gig economy and worker rights. I've gone through like five drafts and I still dont know if Im on the right track. Which one of these actually works?
Draft A (The "obvious" one): "The gig economy has created many new jobs but also presents challenges for workers rights."
Draft B (The "i have an opinion" one): "Companies like Uber and DoorDash are exploitative and should be forced to classify all workers as employees."
Draft C (My current attempt): "While the gig economy offers flexibility that traditional employment lacks, its current classification of workers as independent contractors creates a precarious labor environment that necessitates a new, third legal category to ensure basic protections without sacrificing operational flexibility."
Is Draft C too wordy? It feels like a mouthful. But Draft A is so boring and Draft B sounds like a Twitter rant. I want it to sound academic but still clear. Is C the one, or should I go back to the drawing board? Roast them, help me, save my grade!
