I'm going to be completely honest right now. I'm in my final semester, I'm exhausted, my job is demanding, and I still have 40 pages to write. And the thought has crossed my mind... what if I just pay someone to write my dissertation for me? 
Before you judge me, I KNOW it's wrong. I know about academic integrity policies. I know I could get expelled. But when you're staring at a blank page at 2am, the temptation is REAL.
I guess I'm posting here because I need people to remind me why this is a terrible idea. Has anyone here actually gone through with it and regretted it? Or known someone who got caught? I need horror stories to scare me straight! Also – any positive advice for pushing through this final stretch? I'm so close but it feels impossible. Help!

My roommate's cousin paid someone to write his master's thesis. Cost him two grand. The paper came back full of broken English, mismatched citations, and arguments that made zero sense. He panicked, submitted it anyway out of desperation, and got flagged for plagiarism within a week. The "writer" had recycled it from three other students. He was expelled, lost his funding, and had to move back home with his parents. He's still paying off the student loans for a degree he never got. Don't be that guy. It's not worth it. You've come too far to throw it all away now.
