How to organize research notes from 50+ sources? I'm drowning

I have 50 sources for my lit review and my desk is covered in printed articles, my computer has 40 open tabs, and my notebook is chaos. I can't find anything.

A friend recommended Zotero. It's free and saves citations automatically. You can add PDFs, take notes, tag sources by theme.

Now I have folders for each chapter. Color-coded notes. Everything searchable. I can actually find things!

Anyone else have organization systems? I need all the help I can get before I drown in PDFs.
