I'm a straight-A student, but I'm considering using the best essay writing service for the first time. Judge me.

I know the stereotype is that only lazy students use these services, but that's not my situation. I'm a pre-med student with a 3.9 GPA. I work 20 hours a week at a hospital and take 18 credits. I'm exhausted.

I have a 10-page sociology paper due that's not even for my major, and I just don't have the mental energy to care about it.

I've never used a writing service before because I have pride in my work, but I'm genuinely burning out. I'm not looking to cheat my way through life, I'm just looking to survive this semester without a nervous breakdown. Has anyone else in this situation used a service? Do you regret it? I feel guilty even typing this.

Peter, I used a service for the exact same reason junior year. Biochem major, 18 credits, research assistant position, dying. Used it for a gen ed history paper I literally could not bring myself to care about.

Here's what I learned:
  • The guilt fades when you get the grade and move on with your life
  • You'll probably still rewrite parts because you're a perfectionist (I did)
  • It's not going to become a habit if you're not that kind of person
  • Your GPA matters for med school but so does your sanity
Just be careful which service you pick. Read reviews. Don't go with the cheapest option. And for the love of god run it through plagiarism checkers yourself before submitting.
