Riding the rollercoaster that is the dissertation stage, huh? Feel you been there, done that. If You know what mean? Right now you're stuck between Scylla and Charybdis subject-specific service versus higher-rated generalist. Tricky business, for sure! Well, from my experience, both options have their merits and pitfalls. The subject-specialists know your field like the back of their hand. It’s like hiring personal guide through the Amazon rainforest; they understand every twist and turn of your academic jungle. The last time used one for my Environmental Science dissertation, they were on point with the latest research trends. Cost me about $30 per page but delivered quality worth every penny. On the flip side though, getting pigeonholed in too much jargon or niche theories can sometimes make your work less accessible to readers outside of your field. That’s where these generalist folks shine. They’re usually skilled at explaining complex ideas in simpler terms without compromising on depth or accuracy. Plus, good reviews mean they've likely cracked dissertations across range of topics versatility ain’t easy!
Would love to hear if others have different dissertation perspectives.
